Forklift Operator Training in Muldersdrift Course Objective:

This forklift training program in Muldersdrift will provide operators with the skills necessary to safely and effectively operate a forklift. It will ensure that operators understand and adhere to safety standards, know how to inspect a machine before operation, can control and maneuver a forklift properly, can use appropriate accessories for the load being moved, and have the knowledge of their surroundings.

Requirements:

– A valid driver’s license is required for each student
– A minimum of 5 students are needed to run a training session
– Forklift training should be completed over 2 days
– Operators must wear safety gear at all times while operating a forklift. This includes protective clothing (long sleeve shirt and pants), closed-toed shoes or boots, hearing protection, eye protection, and gloves
– Each operator should receive an operations manual before starting the course

Course Content:

– An introduction to forklifts and related components
– Explanation of standard safety guidelines
– Visual inspection and maintenance check of forklift equipment before each shift
– How to determine weight limitations for materials handling/load requirements using standard measurements
– Proper techniques for loading, transporting and unloading items with a forklift
– Operating procedure for lifting different kinds of loads safely including loads that are tall, awkward shaped, or fragile items such as glass
– Procedures for turning tight corners and controlling speed when driving up inclines or down steep grades
– Refueling techniques using the proper grade fuel & fluids as outlined by manufacturer specifications
– Emergency procedures such as taking corrective action in cases of machine malfunctions or uncontrolled circumstances

Certification Process:

Upon completion of this program, operators must pass an assessment test. The assessment tests basic competency levels on understanding operations procedures, performing routine inspections on forklifts, demonstrating safe maneuvering abilities while loaded and unloaded etc. Once they successfully complete the assessment they will receive their certificate of completion along with wallet cards as proof that they have gone through this program.
