FORKLIFT DRIVER COURSES
Forklift Training in Refilwe : we strive to ensure that all employees have the necessary knowledge and skills to safely operate a forklift. We are proud to offer our employees an intensive Forklift Training program designed to help them understand how to properly operate a forklift and stay safe on the job.
Our Forklift Training Program covers a variety of topics including:
– Types of Forklifts: Our program will provide you with information about the various types of forklifts and their intended uses, as well as how to identify the different types.
– Pre-Operational Safety Check: We will explain why it’s important to inspect the forklift before use, what needs to be inspected, and how it should be done correctly.
– Loading & Unloading: This includes how to properly pick up and move a load, controlling speed while carrying a load, understanding when an overloaded truck must be stopped and unloaded, unloading techniques, and other safe practices related to loading/unloading cargo.
– Operational Controls: This involves instruction on operating pedals, steering mechanisms, lift and tilt controls, hoist height adjustment levers, safety locks and chains on attachments, parking brakes and more.
– Emergency Procedures: We teach participants what they should do in case of mechanical problems or spills, fires or accidents.
At the end of our Forklift Training program all participants must pass both a written exam and practical assessment in order to receive certification. Those who successfully complete this training course will become certified operators capable of handling all operations involving forklifts safely at Refilwe.
Other Types of Forklifts We Train on
1. Electric Counterbalanced Forklifts
Electric counterbalanced forklifts are ideal for the transportation and stacking of heavy items, materials, or containers. These machines are available in various sizes, capacities, and load centers that make them suitable for many different applications.
Advantages: Electric counterbalanced forklifts provide more power than other types of powered lift equipment and have a much lower operating cost compared to gasoline-powered machines. They also produce significantly less noise and emissions than other powered vehicles. The lack of fumes and engine heat helps create a more pleasant working environment. In addition, electric counterbalanced forklifts have lower maintenance costs due to fewer parts that require repair or replacement.
Safety Features: Many electric counterbalanced forklifts come with additional safety features such as overload protection systems and non-skid floor plates to reduce accidents from slips and falls. They also often feature adjustable steering sensitivity so operators can maneuver easily in tight spaces. Other features include LED work lights for improved visibility at night and even protective guards to shield workers from flying debris or loose objects that may fall from the forks during operation.
Applications: Electric counterbalanced forklifts are versatile machines suitable for both indoor and outdoor operations including warehouses, shipping yards, manufacturing facilities, retail stores, construction sites, agricultural operations, and anywhere else where goods need to be moved efficiently over short distances. These powerful machines can move goods up to four times faster than manual lifting and carrying methods.
